Halfords: Perfectaste Packaging
Brief
Halfords, based in the Manawatu, specialise in exotic fresh produce, supplying gourmet potatoes, carrots, yams and unique Earth Gems to the New Zealand market. Their new addition, Perfectaste pre-cooked yams in a delicious choice of plum, tomato or apricot sauce, required an innovative new brand and packaging combo.
Design Solution
The brand was developed around the concept of ‘ready-to eat gourmet cuisine’, targeted at time-poor, health-conscious professionals. Crisp, simple graphics create a clean backdrop for the stunning photography. Overall, a minimalistic look that is designed to capture attention on packed supermarket shelves.
Outcome
The feedback from buyers has been overwhelmingly positive. A trip to the major buyers market in the US in October has also opened wide the export market.
“We have a great long-standing relationship with Lime,” says owner of Halfords, Clint Smythe. “I feel right at home going in to the office and know they’ll look after me. I can leave my boots at the door and enjoy a great cup of coffee.”
